Trying to put in some atmospheric perspective and make the values read correctly.

Feeling remarkably un-inspired, so I went back to this and kept noodling with it.

Practicing loosening up my characters and giving them a sense of life.  Figures pulled from pinterest, spent about 60 seconds (or a bit less) on each one.

Quick Icon painting

I agreed to do some art for the Cloudscape Comics fundraiser for their next book, "Waterlogged" (of which I wrote one of the stories).

Someone was brave enough to ask me to create a social media icon for them, based on a 17th century pirate captain.

Tried to keep it very simple and graphic, since it will be shrunk down, and I wanted it to stay readable.

Started out a random shape, I tightened him up and coloured him in Sketchbook Pro.

Trying to improve my eye for colour by photo copying.

Playing with some custom brushes I made in photoshop to try to force abstractions.

Photo textures seem easier now than they did when I used them last time...I think my eye is speaking to my hands better than it did 3 years ago when I was trying to be a matte painter...
