I love having artist friends, because they keep showing me new inspirations :) My friend Sinan pointed out today's artist to me this week. This is the kind of concept art I really enjoy. I feel like it's taking me to worlds I haven't been to a thousand times before….and THAT my friends, is the point of concept art.

Leaving animation for “fine art”, today's artist is a painter in San Fran who does amazing things with both portraits and cityscapes. Edge control, edge control… I *think* he's fairly well known, but I have only started seeing his stuff pop up fairly recently…not the circles I run in. If you already know of Jeremy, I hope you enjoy the reminder, and if he's new to you, I hope you like his stuff as much as I do!

Today's artist is another animation industry guy who doesn't update his social media all that often :( I found out about him by doing what I do every time I buy a new “Art of Book”…scanning the credits and then looking up all the artists online. In this case, I'm pretty sure it was “Puss in Boots”.

New month! I was looking at “The Art of Brave” book this morning, and reminded myself about today's artist. He was the production designer for “Brave”, and “Quest for Camelot”, and art director for “Shrek 2”. Like a lot of professionals in the animation industry, he doesn't have much of a web presence. Gorgeous work tho!
