Gestures of Despair

Playing around with what the character in my pop surrealism assignment will "look like"...actually, probably closer to "feel".  I'm using Sam Kieth as inspiration to loosen up and try to hit emotion instead of necessarily accuracy.  These were all done VERY quickly, all 12 were finished in less time than it took to play 2 songs on my iPod.

This is purely a mock-up, most of the text will be hand-painted, and the background will be much more distressed...going to go for a Sam Kieth vibe on this one.

These were supposed to be pencils, but I'm painting it anyway, so I figured it was ok to use a value study..

Anyway, here's the layout for my cover...will be done in a 1940s pulp style.
