Today's artist is an industrial designer, an entertainment designer, a teacher, a writer, a publisher...let's just go ahead and say he pretty much exemplifies "inspiration."

Artist Series - Day 345: Pakorn Patarawutiporn

(Oops, my cross post from tumblr to blogger failed yesterday!  Here's what should have gone out!)

Today's artist went to school with me, and we have spent many, many nights in coffee shops in Vancouver, drawing, painting and discussing what makes "good" concept art.  He's been a huge inspiration to me, and it's great to see him accomplishing all the stuff he's been doing since school.

(Dude also needs to update his websites, he's got a lot more cool stuff that he hasn't shown!)

Artist Series - Day 346: Peter Chung

Today's artist created the old MTv cartoon "Aeon Flux", and then went on to work on a bunch of stuff, from the Animatrix to the Rugrats Movie!

Artist Series - Day 344: Ashley Wood

I can't believe I haven't posted today's artist yet, but it seems that I have not.  From his work on "Metal Gear" to "Robots Vs. Zombies Vs. Amazons", Ashley Wood has painted, drawn and collaged images together that I can't believe work, but they do, and they work well.

Artist Series - Day 343: Jonathan Tiong

When I first moved to Vancouver, today's artist ran the Vancouver Sketchgroup, and he welcomed me, even though I truly lacked any sort of experience or evidence that I would ever amount to anything.  He's been my friend ever since, and he's now working as a designer at Bardel Entertainment.  He's taught me a lot, and I hope I've returned the favor at least sometimes!

Artist Series - Day 342: David Macaulay

Today's artist is best known for his book series on the history and design of architecture - Castles, cathedrals, mosques....man, he's some kind of draftsman.

Artist Series - Day 341: Timothy Bradstreet

Ok, you couldn't be a goth/industrial club kid in the 90s without knowing today's artist, and his work on Vampire the Masquerade rpg....or if you were a little nerdier, Shadowrun.  I was much nerdier ;)
