Next steps in crit night

So first I pencilled, and then did a very very initial inking. I'm planning on painting over all the lines eventually, so not that worried about them. I then created a value painting using my cool grey Copic marker set.


From there, I applied very simple watercolour washes over the entire image to give the base colours. Because the paint is transparent, the values from the markers are largely maintained through this step.

  1. that's a really cool technique! I guess you use markers for the greyscale because the watercolors would lift off any water-based paint right?

  2. that's one reason, honestly, I used the markers because they were easy, fast and in my bag ;)
