I've been blasting homework for my two classes, and doing character designs for a project, but I found time to dash off this quickie:

Sketchbook Pro doinking

Seeing where my mind will take me :)

Temple on a cliff - next steps

Feeling remarkably un-inspired, so I went back to this and kept noodling with it.

gesture drawing

Practicing loosening up my characters and giving them a sense of life.  Figures pulled from pinterest, spent about 60 seconds (or a bit less) on each one.

Temple on a cliff - In Progress

I think I'm going to keep working on this one.

Couple of warm-ups

Playing around in Sketchbook Pro, making cartoon characters :)

Quick Icon painting

I agreed to do some art for the Cloudscape Comics fundraiser for their next book, "Waterlogged" (of which I wrote one of the stories).

Someone was brave enough to ask me to create a social media icon for them, based on a 17th century pirate captain.

Tried to keep it very simple and graphic, since it will be shrunk down, and I wanted it to stay readable.

Turtle Guy

Started out a random shape, I tightened him up and coloured him in Sketchbook Pro.

Ancient Architecture tight sketches

Should probably have done more loose ideation, but I felt like playing a bit...

Lasso Selection Landscape

Giving it a shot, trying for a more traditional "Cartoony" look.

20 minute environment sketch painting

Playing with some custom brushes I made in photoshop to try to force abstractions.

Indian Architecture tighter pass.

Photo textures seem easier now than they did when I used them last time...I think my eye is speaking to my hands better than it did 3 years ago when I was trying to be a matte painter...

This week's CGMA homework is Indian palaces.  I'm half done.
